Modalizer will help you create Modal Window links.

Modalizer can convert all links in your website to Modal Window links.

You can choose from many Modal types:
FancyBox, GreyBox, HighSlide, ShadowBox, SqueezeBox, ThickBox.

There are three ways to modalize links:

• Modalize links with certain class names.
• Modalize links 1 with a target="_blank".
• Use the special Modal Syntax tags {modal ...}...{/modal}

Modalizer also has the option to make the Joomla! email, print and PDF links open in Modal Windows.

You have many settings to choose from.

Modalizer was previously known as ModaLinks!

Please turn of the update notification (in the plugin settings) if your administrator becomes slow due to Modalizer!

Main settings

These are the overall settings you can set for the Modal Windows. Most of these can be overruled when using the Modal Syntax tags.

• Template - The template (and subtemplate) to display the page in
• Width - The width in pixels of the Modal Window (some Modal types don't use this)
• Height - The height in pixels of the Modal Window (some Modal types don't use this)
• Show Overlay - Whether or not to show the overlay
• Overlay clickable - Whether or not to close the Modal Window when clicked on the overlay
• Overlay fill - The fill percentage of the overlay
• Modal Type- The Modal type you want to use

You can select whether to convert all internal and / or external links to Modal Window popups.

To prevent certain filetypes (like mp3 files) to open in a Modal Window, you can give a list of file types to ignore.

Modalizer also has the option to make the Joomla! email, print and PDF links open in Modal Windows.
For each of these Joomla! link types you can set the width, height and overlay clickable setting seperatly.

Modal Type settings

Modalizer gives you a standard set of settings. Also you have some settings specific to the Modal type:

FancyBox

• Animation speed in ( No animation / Fast / Normal / Slow )
• Animation speed out ( No animation / Fast / Normal / Slow )

GreyBox

• Behavior ( Top / Centered / Fullscreen / Group )

HighSlide
Highslide does not use an overlay. Also - if Auto Size is set - it does not use the width and height. It will resize the Modal Window to it's content.

• Auto size ( Yes / No )
• Animation speed in ( No animation / Fast / Normal / Slow )
• Animation speed out ( No animation / Fast / Normal / Slow )
• Outline Type ( None / Beveled / Drop Shadow / Glossy Dark / Outer glow / Rounded Black / Rounded White )

ShadowBox
ShadowBox does not use the width and height. It will open a Modal Window in maximum size.

• Animation ( Yes / No )
• Animation Sequence ( Width first, then height / Height first, then width / Both simultaneously )
• Fade Overlay ( Yes / No )

SqueezeBox
No extra options

ThickBox
No extra options

Modal Syntax

Modalizer supports a special easy syntax to make new custom links in your page that open a Modal Window.

{modal url=[url of page]|[other parameters]}Link text{/modal}

You can also use {modalizer ...} and {modalinks ...} (for backward compatability support).

There are a number of settings you can overrule by using these parameters in the tag:

• url - The url to open in the Modal Window (required) (alternatives: link, href)
• type - The Modal type you want to use (alternatives: windowtype)
• maintemplate - The template to use (alternatives: template)
• subtemplate - The subtemplate to use (alternatives: tmpl)
• width - The width in pixels of the Modal Window (some Modal types don't use this) (alternatives: w)
• height - The height in pixels of the Modal Window (some Modal types don't use this) (alternatives: h)
• overlay - Whether or not to show the overlay [1/0] (alternatives: show_overlay, showOverlay)
• overlay_close - Whether or not to close the Modal Window when clicked on the overlay [1/0] (alternatives: close, close_overlay, closeWithOverlay)
• overlay_opacity - The fill percentage of the overlay [0 - 100] (alternatives: opacity, overlayOpacity)

HighSlide Outlines

In addition to the overall parameters, you can overrule the HighSlide outline setting to change the look and feel of the window. So this only has effect when using the Modal type HighSlide.

• outline - A graphic outline style for the border of the the Modal Window (alternative: outlineType)
