TOPIC: How to set to one single page

How to set to one single page 1 Month, 2 Weeks ago
I created a special position near the top of my front page for a slideshow module and this works fine. However, I want to insert the slideshow module in another module at the same special position. So, I created that module with text and inserted the slideshow module using {module slideshow|horz} from the editor button. But now I have two slideshows! My problem is I can't see how to use AMM to make unpublished the original slideshow. According to one of the reviewers (July 10, 2010) this should be possible using AMM. But I'm stumped.

You don't need AMM to do this.

Just publish your original in a non-existing position. The position field is editable. So just type 'hidden' or something in it.

When I do that, write in a non-existing position, the slideshow displays itself at full scale (2048x1536) and covers up everything. I'm using the JT SlideShow which uses jQuery and jQuery Cycle Plugin. I've gone over the settings and can't seem to prevent this. Perhaps I should try a different slidshow, or try a different way of displaying text (constant for all slides) beside the slides. You see, I want to provide text describing what the slides mean to the left (or right) of the slides (not above or below them). I hope this makes sense.

Ok, that will be caused by the module trying to place stuff in the header, which it can't manage to do when placed via Modules Anywhere.
See here: www.nonumber.nl/forum/12-modules-anywher...-your-module-to-work

Another option would be to make a new position in your template that is surrounded with a <div style=:display:none";>...</div>
That way the module is placed on your website, but it won't be visible.

Thanks, Peter. Modifying my template to create a new position with style="display:none", and then choosing that position for the slideshow kept it undisplayed. Then I used the editor button and put the slideshow in my custom module at its original position. That worked fine and displayed the slideshow. SOLVED
