Hi team,

I've been trying to get Gavick Photo Slide GK2 working on the FrontPage, and here's my situation. I simply slapped '{module Gavick Image Show}' into an article and had that displayed as the lead article on the page. The problem I found though was in order to get it to work I had to enable it and assign it a module position which then displayed it in another area of the page as well i.e debug.

I then decided I needed to create another module position for the template at the top of the page, but having no php knowledge what so ever I got as far as putting '<position>banner1</position>' in the templateDetails.xml file.

However I then discovered that this module position now shows up in the drop down list and I can assign Photo Slide to 'banner1', but as template position obviously hasn't been loaded it just doesn't show up anywhere except in the article where I pasted '{module Gavick Image Show}'

Is it ok to have the page displayed like this, or is there an easier, more obvious way I'm missing?

Thanks a lot

Dan

To place a module it indeed must exist.
But you don't have to have the original module displayed on your page. You can do this by simply placing the module in a position that does not exist. Just type something in the module position field in the module settings (it's an editable pulldown field).

Oh right I didn't realise you could type into the drop down list. So all I've done is create another selection for the module position list named 'banner1' that doesn't actually do anything.

Thanks a lot Peter, top man!
