I use soucerer extensively in my site in May and it was good. I have since moved to joomla 1.5.13 and downloaded S version 2.1.6

The helper button works fine, but it will not insert onto the page am I doing something silly?..probably.
(I have exactly the same problem with linkr in my new site)
and I have installed a later version of Jumi could there be a conflict ??)

You are probably using the JCE editor. And all your editor buttons don't work.

Please see the JCE website and download their latest patch.

Yes indeed I am using JCE. I went to their website and re-downloaded the latest version I could find, labelled com_jce_157_154.zip and installed it with no probs. BUT things still dont work. In particular the sourcerer button brings up its special window...but the window is empty! If I click insert nothing happens. [Linkr offers me the links allows configure but then on insert nothing happens] It all worked back in May! Perhaps it's the weather.
Perhaps I am missing something or I need to do a new JOOMLA install (I hope not!)

Aha! after looking at my earlier version I see that I had:
Plugin SOurcere edit button; System sourcerer; and Sourcerer module.
After downloading your latest into an otherwise new Joomla I do not have the plugin 'system sourcerer, or the module I ONLY have th hedit button.
Could it be that it works if you already have these installed from a previous version but the v 2.1.6 installer is not complete?

It looks as though you are right.
I am using JCE butI could find no Patch.

I downloaded and tried your 'content templater' which inciidentally seems a good idea. I made a test template then called it with the button. After a while it came up with the message 'cannot find editor'.

So I switched off adminstrator using JCE and put tinyMCE instead and all worked !! So it looks like a JCE problem perhpas I need to spend time on their forum.

No things are still not right ! even using tinyMCE

The button now produces the special sourcerer window but this just has the 'source' '/source' pair showing and none of the other help words, that I can see from my May website.

You have some weird problems.

The Sourcerer extension exists of a editors-xtd plugin (= the editor button) and a system plugin.

Can you give me admin access if you can't get it to work?

I have downloaded the 'patch'. do I just copy it over the original and then re-install or do I just copy it over the plugin in a file somewhere?

Would it be a good idea to uninstall every extension and re-install them. I did have an occasional error when installing, saying something like 'cannot delete the file ...'.

I would love to give you access but It is on my home computer at present and I only have slow (0.6M) access. The telephone line comes across fields past the cows and past the trees and horses !

You should copy the file in the patch zip to your server via an ftp program.

Try that and see if that fixes thing first...
