MODULE in CONTENT - watch out ! 10 Months ago
Hello Peter,

in one of my sites where i had plugin "module in content" installed, which you have now declared obsolete, it seems the plugin checks with your website for every admin page access, and then a tooltip says it is out of date.

the effect of this is *extremely* slow admin access ( up to 10 seconds response time ) for each and every admin page access in joomla, as they all must go through the same online version check.

uninstalling the plugin solves the problem.

i am posting this here in case some people out there are having fights with their hosts over 'extremely slow connection speeds'.

in general, it is not recommended to program this way. it can propagate delays.

given that you are a very helpful and kind person , i would go only go as far as to mention this incidence for other. i will save you the three days of swearing at my host lol.

that's it, have a nice day.

p/s

i have downloaded your plugin module-anywhere, and saved in a directory called 'be careful' for later inspection and possible use.

many thanks.

That's why the update option is not in the new versions of my extensions anymore.
Modules in Content has been replaced by Modules Anywhere some time ago, which doesn't have the update thing described above.

That Modules Anywhere is a lot better than Modules in Content is reason enough to uninstall Modules in Content.

PS: There was an option in Modules in Content to turn the update check off. But that is not so important now anymore, because you should just through Modules in Content in the bin.

Some of my other extensions had the update check too, but that has been fixed in all those some (long) time ago.

The whole reason for the update check was to tell you that there was an update. Seeing you have come with this problem now, kinda shows you have just ignored that message.
