I absolutely LOVE AdminBar Docker! Seriously, this is such a great enhancement to Joomla's admin work-flow it's now the first thing I install on any new Joomla project.

As soon as I log into the back-end, the first thing I do is click the little AdminBar icon to activate it. But, one thing that bugs me is that I have to do that every time I log-in. So, with total respect to you Peter for the great work you have done with this extension (and your others as well), perhaps it could be made even better if there was a control that allowed the user to enable AdminBar docker permanently? This would save me from having to always activate it when logging in.

But hey, even as is, this is such an improvement to Joomla it should be absorbed into the core. I love it so much, I'm gonna spread some of that love and donate.

Have you taken a look in the AdminBar Docker plugin settings?

I am running AdminBar Docker on several sites, both locally and on a server. In all cases I have set the default state to DOCK but this only keeps the bar docked until I restart my computer. I can log in & out as often as I want and AdminBar remains docked as expected but as soon as I reboot, the setting is lost. This happens regardless of whether the site is accessed locally or on a server.

I am using FF 3.6 / OS X 10.6.1

I note that after rebooting, when accessing the plug-in parameters, the radio button for Default State still has DOCK selected even though AdminBar has lost the setting and is no longer docked. In order to reset AdminBar so that it once again remains docked, I have to expand AdminBar, and then hit APPLY in the plugin i.e. I don't need to select DOCK again as it's already selected.

No big deal however - it's still a great addition to any Joomla installation. I only mention it in case you were not aware.

DOCKED = how it is normally
UNDOCKED = toolbars stay at the top of the screen

A better name for the extension would be AdminBar Undocker

Right. Suddenly it's clear now

Maybe the buttons should be called ACTIVE / INACTIVE? Or even ON / OFF??
