Apply options to several modules/positions. 1 Year, 11 Months ago
One for the wishlist: it would be cool to be able to apply a set of options to one or more modules and/or one or more positions at once.

What do you mean by options?

Options as in "options" and "other publishing limits" as mentioned on the Description tab of the Advanced Module Manager product page.

Not quite sure how you would want that to work.

You now can set up the publishing settings for a module. And have other modules mirror that module. So the assignment settings for that module will have effect on the others.

I'm not quite sure either It just seems as a very nice feature. I guess you would need a component to manage those kind of more or less global settings.

The mirror function sounds like a cool function and I have to admit I didn't use it yet. However, I assume that if you change any of the mirrored options/limits afterwards, those changes will not be propagated to the mirror module. That's quite different than what I propose, because in that case a single set of options will apply to a group of modules and/or all modules on specific positions as a whole.

Example:

You set ModuleA to display only on article X.
You set ModuleB to mirror ModuleA.

ModuleA & ModuleB will only appear on article X.

Then you change ModuleA to display only on article Y.

now ModuleA & ModuleB will only appear on article Y.

So if I understand you correctly, my assumption is wrong. Also the mirror functionality comes much closer to what I proposed than I thought.

Thanks for the clarification.
