It just seems as a very nice feature. I guess you would need a component to manage those kind of more or less global settings.
The mirror function sounds like a cool function and I have to admit I didn't use it yet. However, I assume that if you change any of the mirrored options/limits afterwards, those changes will not be propagated to the mirror module. That's quite different than what I propose, because in that case a single set of options will apply to a group of modules and/or all modules on specific positions as a whole.
