But it still does not function with german "Umlaute" like äöü. It does save a text excatly up the first "Umlaut", the rest is skipped.

I checked first the differnt editors, even to save it without editor, but that is o.k.

Used stuff:

Editor JCE (newest Jan. 2009)

Strange. I am not sure what the problem is. Because I have the same setup and it works fine

I've found the fault

I've installed it on my other site, using Joomla 1.5.8 and it worked. The problem was, that I used an old template consisting a quite long table I did produce one year ago. After i made a new template with a ne table structure everything worked fine. Sorry to have trubled you.

This is by the way a very useful component, which certainly will get its place within the Joomla community.

first off all I must say, this is a great idea and extension!!!

But the german Umlaute dont work for me. It doesnt matter whether with or without the editor, umlaute are either cut off or misrepresented.

Have you any solution? I would pay for a new pro version with a umlaute-fix!

I try the new version 0.2.0. The umlauts are no longer truncated and properly represented in the template. However, when I add this template to a article they are allready misrepresented like that:

I just released a new version, moments after 0.2.0. I came across the problem my self too. I was a bit too quick releasing 0.2.0.

I think it is fixed now. If not, please let me know, because the behavior of the special characters might differ per setup.

After install problems with ZIP (see other thread) i had success with manual install from tmp folder.

Now i can see problems with german "Umlaute" öäüÖÄÜ in v.0.2.1

JCE latest version.

I know this from the JCE pro template manager, too.

Or just a user(publisher) in front end?

Well, I'd like to play around with the component in the backend.
But maybe frontend access can also teach me some stuff, so that would be a start...

version 0.4.0 also dont work with my installation/server and the german umlaute. You have a admin-acc. Do you still need the testsystem to play around?

Not sure yet why it doesn't work on your setup. I'll look into it this week...

This is now fixed (hopefully for everyone) in version 0.4.4.
