Problems to install (update) the newest version 2 Years, 10 Months ago
Hello!

First of all congratulations! It's a great component!

I installed "Content Templater" and I was using it. Now I'm trying to install the newest version and I have some problems.

I don't know which the problem is because my folders have the right read/write permissions.

In the joomla control panel I click the download and install button and after I see some error messages:

- Install component: another component is using the directory: "/usr/home/gatblau/www/components/com_nonumber-installer"

- Install component: another component is using the directory: "/usr/home/gatblau/www/administrator/components/com_nonumber-installer"

- Install Component Error

- This is a temporary component to install / update NoNumber! extensions.

I'd prefer update it automatically, because I think that if I do it manually (like you explain in the INSTALL.txt) I'll lose my templates.

Could somebody help me please???!!!!

Thanks a lot and congratulations again!.

Llunas.

The nonumber-installer is the component which does all the automatic install/update stuff. And after all is done, it should uninstall itself.

For some reason, that last step was not done properly on an earlier install or update of Content Templater.

Just uninstall the nonumber-installer component and you should be able to run the update again.

No, you can safely uninstall the nonumber-installer. That is only used during install/update of Content Templater.

If you run the installer of Content Templater, it will get updated and your templates will be kept.

Actually, if you uninstall Content Templater and reinstall it again, your templates won't be lost!

Hi,
I am a novice to joomla and am trying to install Content Templater. I have ftp'd the files up to the root directory and moved the contents of the "file" folder to the root directory. How do I run the manual_query.sql in the database? Is this possible from the joomla admin or the do I need to do this through my ISP cpanel?
Thanks :-/

You only have to do the manual installation if you have problems with the normal Joomla install procedure. That can be because of ftp / folder permission settings.

So have you tried installing the package through the installer in your Joomla Administrator?
