Hi,

I just started working with content templater and It seemed to be working fine, then I updated JCE and when I attempt to use content templater I get an error message that reads "Could not find the editor". I tested it with another editor and it works fine with that editor, exactly as it did with JCE prior to the update.

Do you think I messed up the update, or do you think it is some sort of compatability problem between the updated version of JCE and Content Templater.

Try updating JCE and Content Templater again. You can just run the Content Templater auto-installer package without uninstalling it first...

The problem seems to be two small update files from JCE. They are the second and third updates at the bottom of this page, http://www.joomlacontenteditor.net/news. After I updated the Content Templater and JCE, I added these two file changes and once again Content Templater quit working.

I'm not sure why JCE plugin is not updated to include these changes, but it is not - luckily.

Well, it is clearly something wrong with that jce.php file.
I installed the newestversion and copied the patch. But then all editor buttons (also the core Image button) stop working.

So there is no conflict with Content Templater, it is a bug with the JCE patch.

I have to confirm, that there is an error in the JCE 1.5.4, that keeps the Content Templater from finding the editor.

The good news are, there is a solution to this problem as well!

All you need is this update-Patch for JCE 1.5.4, http://www.joomlacontenteditor.net/downl...itor/patches/188-154

Replace the "editor.js" in "/plugins/editors/jce/libraries/js/" and ALL of your editor-buttons, including Content Templater, will work just fine with JCE.

Nice one Lexy! Problem solved.

Peter kindly made this component compatible with JoomSuite Resources a while back - now that I'm considering going live I've come back to looking at ContentTemplater again.

I noted that there are loads of additional improvements since I last looked, so I was disappointed when I had the JCE editor problem. But you've sussed that one out and shared the solution already, cheers!

It still doesn't work...

Update: After reinstalling JCE 1.5.4 the fix does work.

What are the exact steps and order you took to get it working.

I am running jce 1.5.4 and joomla 1.5.14.

1) download and unzip the JCE 188-154 patch mentioned above
2) copy editor.js to .../plugins/editors/jce/libraries/js/editor.js

Great solution Lexy, just needed ctrl+F5 to load the ne js file after the replace

I am still getting this error.

I uploaded the editor.js patch as discussed.

I refreshed my cache. Logged out and back in.

Also, tried re-installing 1.1.4.

I have a template created. Published, not front end, not default.

Shows up in the list on create new article.

When I select, the status light box thing comes up and then BAM.

The error.

Help?
