Hi there,
Really fabulous extension !
Thanks. as you say if you just need a single level menu then this gives you total control.

Just a quick question.
Is it possible to preload the hover images to prevent a flicker when the user mouse overs for the first time ?

yes, just use css sprites.
So place all images for the buttons in one image. And use css to change the background-position instead of the background-image.
